Melbourne-based developer Tantalus have revealed their first DSiWare title, Drift Street International. The game is an arcade racer in the same vein as Need for Speed: Underground (except without the constant rain-drenched roads) and features tracks set in the US, UK and Japan.
Tantalus have quite the history of pushing handheld hardware with their racing games; the GBA's 3D Top Gear Rally was especially impressive. Drift Street International is said to take full advantage of the DSi's expanded hardware, allowing a greater sense of speed and an improved draw-distance (in a game that takes place at night?)
It looks to rival the amount of content you'd expect from a full retail release. There'll be local-multiplayer for up to four players, too. Drift Street International costs 800 Points - it launches on the American DSiWare service next week, and an Australian release date is expected shortly. A trailer can be viewed on the game's website
