de Blob 2 confirmed

Fiiinaaaally. In an investor call today, THQ CEO Brian Farrell promised an avalanche of sequels for 2011, and while it was mainly focused on the 360/PS3 (Red Faction 4 - yes! Darksiders 2, Saints Row 3 etc.), it seems they'll also be giving de Blob another chance to shine on Wii.

There's nothing to go on as far as game details, but there you go! Hopefully Blue Tongue Entertainment is still in charge.

More excited about Red Faction 4 here: wooo! :D good good news, the party destruction mode is awesome.

Didn't really 'get' de Blob 1 in the sense it didn't click with me, so not that excited for a sequel...

Really don't see any point in Darksiders getting a sequel so soon.

This, but I'll probably keep an eye on it.
I don't think anybody expected it to get a sequel. As far as I know de Blob 1 didn't sell all that great, so they must have some great ideas for #2.

The first one had magic and personality but was bogged down by tedious mission design, repetitive levels and overly long levels. Couldn't save mid level which hurt the game a lot. If they fix that up for 2 and add a more dynamic and addictive paint mechanic, I'll jump on board.

Looks like I need to finish the first game. I nearly ran out of time beating the final boss, so in the end I reset the console returned the game to it's case and let it collect dust. I haven't returned since, and in that time, I've completed about 10 games.

Your thoughts mirror mine in regards to issues with the original de Blob, as well as expectations for the sequel. Whilst I enjoyed the game on the whole for its personality, style, and general gameplay, the mandatory one hour playtime session per level was both frustrating and off-putting.

Alas, it's very pleasing that the success of the original game will see a positive follow-up, especially in light of recent remarks from several third party developers and publishers.

I enjoyed the first De Blob, but I hope they add more game mechanics to it. Sometimes it did get a bit boring and repetitive.
