Happy New Year Aussie-Nintendonians and welcome to this weeks instalment of Nintendo Shop Updates, five new titles are available today on WiiWare and DSiWare.

Title: Happy Hammerin'
System: WiiWare
Price:
500 Nintendo Points
As you'd expect this is a "whack-a-mole" type game, moles appear all over the screen and it's your job to try and hit them. Swing your Wii remote around in three different modes, Adventure with four stages over three difficulties and up to two players, Mole Marathon where you single-handedly go mole bashing crazy, and finally there's Party Battle where up to four players can get together to see who is the best Hammerer. You can also register your scores online to try and beat the worlds best players.

Title: Tomena Sanner
System: WiiWare
Price:
500 Nintendo Points
You take control of crazy Japanese businessman Hitoshi Susumu who is running late to his super hot dance party. Run as fast as you can through various stages filled with samurai's, T-Rexes, cowboys, and various obstacles which can all be avoided with a single button making this playable for all ages. An in game ticker offers funny and entertaining little comments for you to read as you play along. Run through nine different levels including the Moon, jungle, a city and more. There is also a split screen multiplayer mode, an endless mode that lets you keep going until you reach the score you want and even a turbo mode that tests your skills. All scores can be uploaded to an online leader board so you can aim to beat others from around the world.

Title: High Stakes Texas Hold 'Em
System: DSiWare
Price:
500 Nintendo Points
What can I say? the one millionth poker game for DSiWare and this one comes with no online multiplayer. Everything you'd expect comes included offering a virtual poker experience on your DSi, nothing more, nothing less.

Title: Dragon's Lair
System: DSiWare
Price:
800 Nintendo Points
Created by former Disney animator, Don Bluth, Dragon's Lair is full on animation which is sure to provide an unique and old school experience as you try to save the princess from an evil dragon. You take control of Dirk the Daring as you travel through an enchanted castle created by a mad wizard. There are better versions of the game available on other platforms but this DSiWare port offers a portable experience which still wont disappoint.

Title: Miami Nights: Life in the Spotlight
System: DSiWare
Price:
800 Nintendo Points
Think a cut down version of The Sims but on a beach. Create your own unique character and interact with various other people around Miami, your character develops a personality based on your responses. There are over thirty places to explore in the city and you even have a customisable home, complete goals by developing relationships with others and interacting with them. Unfortunately there isn't much play time so if you're into simulation games then give it a go however you'll find yourself over it before to long.

I just downloaded it for lolz and it is soooo Japanese.

The graphics and general gameplay are just so random and whacky that it just can't be a western title.

Oh and it seems Happy Hammerin' isn't available in Australia.

Haha, Tomena Sanner is mental. I think this is the first video game that lets you slap a cross-dressing ballerina on the arse and crowd surf on zombies.
