Reality TV shows.

Well in the past 10 years reality TV Shows have been like the ratings grabber of Television all around the world. You have the good and bad.
Here are some examples.
Farmer Wants a Wife: This is like the down to earth version of the Bachelor except with less sluttiness and less bitchiness but still why would a farmer want one, I would rather "Why my crops aren't growing" or "Why isn't the government helping me". Maybe they can change it to Farmer wants government help and they fight for it.
The Bachelorette I think this is on GO but still I mean she like makes out with every single guy. So that's helps deciding I guess but there is so much stuff that is so wrong with that show.
Rock of Love with Bret Michaels I heard of this show but I don't want to watch especially because I could imagine like every girl in that show having like an STD but I don't get it he finds one girl then it is next season, ship them off to the Farmer wants a wife then.
Big Brother and like it is on to its 1023th in the world or something. This wasn't bad in the beginning but it just was too off. I think it could have been better if there well was a better system to kick out people such as not people voting by calling. I hate those hosts especially Gretel whatever her name was. She's annoying and her paper column is worse, I don't care about how voting should be about getting drunk and dancing but I don't have too much beef with that show.
If I was in it, well I would be eliminated actually for being under the radar I guess.
Some Country's Idol: It will always be the hottest girl/guy winning in America and Australia do the winners actually amount to anything. Last I heard of Casey Donovan was that she got bashed up in a bar, Guy was at the cricket and that's all I remember. Who was the punk wannabe who sung about Wasabi, was he on drugs?
Masterchef Well the Australia one which is on like right now but why is everyone so nice, I would like try be cold to win the damm thing. It is a competition not a like gathering where we are all nice and cute and such. The contest is basically who can sell the most books and appear on TV but hey you can't run a kitchen but you are still a master. I get that two of the judges actually are chefs but Matt Preston? I mean all he does is basically does is eat and he takes up what like 3 tables (joke), They all cry and such, it is just a popularity contest. Is anyone going to be a proper chef like Curtis Stone, the show needs more Curtis or Gordon Ramsay and less crying and more bitchin'
...Next Top Model: The show where the clothes are good, the guys crossdress and being a bitch well is the main point of the show. It is like the bitchiness that really is the points, "She is such....", "Who does she think she is, she is totally....". Well at least the clothes are good.
Survivor I actually like this one and I would actually go on it because it seems fun but the problem is voting off. You need to be either under the radar, smart or very physical. I fall like in none but close to physical I guess. I don't have any beef with this show like the nest one.
The Amazing Race I like this one as well and I would love to do it but there is something that both Survivor and this one has over the rest that I don't know makes it really good. I think I could last a bit on this show because well I would less of dead waste that any other show :P
Some list of crappy ones: My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancé: That sounds like someone is a bit too bitter and is like if you don't lose weight I don't want to marry you, maybe you should have said that before you got engaged.
Boy Meets Boy: ??? enough said Boy Meets Boy is an American reality television show in which a gay man meets and chooses a mate from a group of 15 potential male suitors. The show was made more novel by the fact that the "leading man" did not know that the mix of suitors included both gay and straight men
Charm School with Ricki Lake: Basically making sluts/whores/druggies into good girls with the help of Ricki Lake, that's where she is now.
Paradise Hotel: Basically who can survive in a luxury hotel the longest. YAY?
But seriously have we gone to far I mean we have great ones in my opinion such as Survivor and Amazing Race but we have the crap. If you think about it some shows miss the target but are still funny but some don't and are good but also the reason is that audience can like feel that they are getting to know a person or fancying them knowing that they are real.
But Reality TV show has changed I mean back in the 90's you could say like shows like GUTS and A*mazing could be a bit a reality show but that;s changed due to the target market I guess. People want to see people in funny situations like most shows but that's just how it is.
I'm so sorry that this is terrible, I just decided to wizz through but I'm trying I guess. Thanks for reading through this mess.

Agreed on the Amazing Race and Survivor thing. They're both pretty much the only ones that are any good. Although I do enjoy Beauty and the Geek too.

I think a cool concept for a reality tv show would be to have 2 teams of six to set out in the wild (like survivor), but they're put an equal distance away from a 'target and given a week to make it get there.

I got into Season 1 of Survivor, Season 3-4 of Australian Idol and Beauty and the Geek is kinda cool but really, the shows appear as too manufactured to be believable or engrossing. John Farnham didn't need to get through a panel and voting system to be considered great. Huey never had to impress 3 judges to dramatic music to be a national success.
Even the losers of their respective shows still make it nationally, if not, internationally which kinda defeats the purpose of the winner.Posted 26-07-2010 at 09:44 AM by Kabal

Can't say I followed any of these. I do remember enjoying an episode or two of early Survivor and The Amazing Race, but they were never on at times I could sit down and watch them...and I could never be bothered with recording them.
A*mazing was a game-show I loved though. I remember that GUTS show had a pretty interesting concept. There was another game-show I watched occasionally as a kid but can't seem to remember what it was.
From what I remember, teams were in pairs and it was supposedly set on another planet or something (maybe they crash landed?). Games involved them collecting other planetary stuff or parts for their ship. The last event always involved the teams on a race to fix and get to their ship in order to take off before the planet explodes or something. I like amazing race, but I love survivor. Don't reallylike any other reality shows. Your spot on about masterchef just being a popularity contest, the producers choose who wins long before the show is finished.
